Moulded Cords & Cables Ltd moved to larger premises on 1st September 1999. Our increase in growth over the past 10 years means we have an ever increasing investment in stock, which is important to us as we offer same day delivery shipments on most of our products. We feel that our new Offices and Warehouse facilities will allow us to provide a better service to our customers.

What is ISO 9000?

ISO 9000 is a series of standards for the management of quality systems in almost any type of organisation. Manufacturers, distributors, service agencies or even design firms can achieve ISO 9000 certification. More and more customers agencies are requiring ISO certification of their suppliers. In addition, some European directives and agencies require that a certified ISO 9000 system is maintained, this ensures that safety requirements are adhered to throughout the design, production and distribution phases of the product.

There are three main standards in the ISO 9000 series:

  • ISO 9001

  • ISO 9002

ISO 9001

This contains 20 requirements for organisations involved with design, development, production, installation and servicing.

  
   

ISO 9002

This contains 19 requirements for organisations involved with production, installation and servicing.

 
   

ISO 9003

This contains 16 requirements for organisations involved with final inspection and test.

  
   
Key Requirements  
   

The Key requirements of ISO 9001, 9002, 9003 include the following:

  • A documented quality system (i.e. quality manual and procedures)

  • An internal audit system to verify compliance with the documented quality system

  • A corrective and preventative action system to ensure compliance is maintained

Moulded Cords & Cables Ltd is licensed and therefore regularly surveyed to ISO 9001:2000 by Quality Assurance Systems (www.imsm.co.uk) to ensure that the highest quality standards are ever present.
